Gondola Music is a music content, education and technology platform.

Gondola Music is a community-driven music platform founded by classical and jazz pianist Timothy Gondola.

We are currently developing transcriptions, courses, music tutorials, the Music In Motion blog, study notes, and jazz workbooks– with the input and direction of the community! Our future plans involve expanding into music curriculum, software, academia and literature.

The vision of Gondola Music is to unite musicians, democratize jazz, and bring the world along a journey of musical enlightenment.

Timothy Gondola , founder and CEO of Gondola Music, is a dedicated contributor to the music community of Indianapolis.

Born in Ithaca, NY, Timothy grew up and now resides in Indiana. He majored in geography and minored in music at Macalester College (St. Paul, MN) and holds a Master's in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) from Indiana University.

At age four, Timothy started learning piano from his mother. He began private lessons at five, and started lessons in classical piano with Jackie Murphy at seven, which continued through high school.

At Macalester College he discovered jazz, delving into the jazz piano repertoire by learning Oscar Peterson and Art Tatum transcriptions, including ones he transcribed himself. Beginning in summer 2013, he began teaching himself the principles of jazz improvisation, and joined the Macalester Jazz Band junior year. That year, Timothy also started taking lessons in jazz with Mike Vasich, and classical lessons with Lauri Saeger-Wright.

With a passion and talent for music from a young age, Timothy continues to contribute to the music community as a pianist, performer, arranger and instructor.
