Scales
The minor and major blues scales are used in blues, jazz, rock & roll, R&B, fusion, hip-hop and more.
Pentatonic scales are 5-note scales. Major and minor pentatonic are the primary ones, but there are dozens of other kinds.
Diminished scales are 8-note (octatonic) scales which outline the fully diminished 7th chord. There are two kinds: whole-half diminished and half-whole diminished.
Wholetone scales are 6-note scales built off of whole tones (aka whole steps or major seconds).
